About
A small firm, and that is the point
TK-TechKnow LLC was formed in 2025. We are not going to claim to be a thousand-recruiter operation. Here is what you get instead — and where a bigger agency would genuinely serve you better.
You talk to the person doing the work
At larger agencies your brief passes from a salesperson to an account manager to a recruiter, losing detail at every handoff. Here the person who takes the brief runs the search and is reachable directly.
Short lists, with the reservations included
Sending twenty resumes is how an agency shifts screening work back onto you while looking busy. We send three to five, with written notes on each — including what gives us pause.
Rates you can see
You get the markup percentage on contract placements and the fee percentage on direct hire, in writing, before work starts. Opaque pricing is how the industry hides poor worker pay.
We turn down work
If the brief and budget do not match, or the role is outside what we can genuinely fill, we say so at the intake call. A declined search costs you nothing; a failed one costs you six weeks.
Candidates are treated like adults
We ask permission before every submission, share pay ranges up front and always give an answer. This is not altruism — candidates talk, and the ones who trust you send you their networks.
Compliance is handled properly
For contract placements we are the employer of record: payroll, withholding, workers compensation, I-9 and screening. We document the co-employment boundary rather than leaving it vague.
Honesty
When we are the wrong choice
If any of these describe your situation, a larger firm will serve you better and we will say so on the first call.
- You need 50+ hires simultaneously across multiple states next month.
- You require an established MSP or VMS relationship with dedicated on-site staff.
- You need clinical healthcare staffing — nurses, physicians or licensed clinicians.
- Your procurement process requires a vendor with ten years of audited financials.
