How it works

From brief to onboarded, in four steps

No black box. You know what is happening at each stage and who is doing it.

  1. Intake call

Thirty minutes on the role, the team, the must-haves and the deal-breakers. We push back here if the brief and the budget do not match, because finding that out in week three helps nobody.

  2. Sourcing & screening

We source against the actual requirement, screen by phone, and verify credentials with the issuing body. Candidates who do not hold up are filtered out before you see them.

  3. Shortlist

A small shortlist with written notes on each candidate, including the reservations. Usually within 72 hours for mainstream roles.

  4. Offer & onboarding

We coordinate interviews, manage the offer, and handle payroll, I-9, background checks and compliance for contract placements.

Why TechKnow Global

A small firm, and that is the point

TK-TechKnow LLC was formed in 2025. We are not going to pretend to be a thousand-recruiter operation — here is what you actually get instead.

You talk to the principal

We are a small firm by design. The person who takes your brief is the person running the search, and they are reachable directly.

A short list, not a long one

Volume submission is how agencies shift screening work onto clients. We send fewer candidates and write down why each one is on the list.

Honest lead times

If a role will take six weeks, we say six weeks at the intake call. We would rather lose the engagement than win it on a number we cannot hit.

Transparent rates

You see the markup percentage on contract placements and the fee percentage on direct hire, agreed in writing before we start.

FAQ

Straight answers about working with a staffing agency

What does a staffing agency actually do?

A staffing agency sources, screens and places workers on behalf of an employer. For contract placements the agency is the legal employer and handles payroll, taxes and compliance while the worker takes day-to-day direction from the client. For direct hire, the agency recruits and the client employs the person themselves.

How much does a staffing agency charge?

Contract staffing is billed as an hourly bill rate: the worker pay rate plus a markup covering employer taxes, insurance, benefits and agency margin. Direct-hire recruiting is a one-time fee, commonly 18–25% of first-year base salary in the US market. TechKnow Global agrees both figures in writing before any work starts.

What is the difference between contract, contract-to-hire and direct hire?

Contract means the worker stays on the agency payroll for a fixed period. Contract-to-hire is a contract with an agreed option to convert the worker onto your payroll, usually after three to six months. Direct hire means the person joins your payroll immediately as a permanent employee.

How fast can you fill a role?

A first shortlist within 72 hours for mainstream IT, finance and light industrial roles. Specialist engineering, controls and clearance-dependent roles take longer, and we give a realistic estimate at the intake call rather than an optimistic one.

Where does TechKnow Global operate?

We place candidates across the United States. TK-TechKnow LLC is a Wyoming-registered company with a US office in Minneapolis, Minnesota, supported by a sourcing and delivery team in India that extends our coverage across time zones.

Do you charge job seekers?

No. Candidates never pay us anything. Our fees are paid by the employer. Any agency asking a job seeker for money should be treated with suspicion.
